It’s very probable that Glow will be faction transferring in the next few days, and becoming a Tauren. As part of her horde scouting mission, I’ve been scoping out the territory on my warrior, Lyndra.
I’m always keen to explore the horded-alliance differences, but I was stunned by the differences between the two Shrines in the Vale of Eternal Sorrows. So I’ve taken some screenshots to illustrate the differences. Warning: this is a VERY image heavy post. (And please excuse the random texture I’m using to blot out chat windows)
Seven Stars courtyard. Flower vendor in front of tree, along with flowers and trees for sale.
Two moons courtyard. Spirit vendor in front of the tree.
Seven Stars entrance, mailbox to the left. (Also the banners are pushed back against the wall).
Two Moons entrance. NO MAIL BOX! And banners have a big gap to the walls.
Seven Stars courtyard, NPCs playing Hearthstone to the right of the entrance.
Two Moons courtyard, NPCs playing Hearthstone to the right of the entrance.
Seven Stars courtyard, NPCs playing Hearthstone to the left of the entrance.
Two Moons courtyard, empty Hearthstone board to the right of the entrance. (And you can sit at the board!)
Seven Stars, entrance to the inn. Surrounded by flowers, tents, carts.
Two Moons inn entrance. Bare.
Seven Stars inn: The Golden Lantern. Not as much sleeping space, partly because it’s taken up by a group watching a gnome dance.
Two Moons inn: Summers Rest, more sleeping area and tables. No dancing gnomes. This is a a very, very good thing.
This is Duinn Steelbrew. He makes at least half of the Shrine of Seven Stars unbearable if you play with sound on. His horrible dwarven laughter is on a loop, and you can hear it upstairs and down.
The Golden Lantern has barrels opposite “reception”. I was thinking that the alliance might be getting more barrels.
Summer’s Rest: no barrels.
Seven Stars, above the Golden Lantern. It looks quiet, doesn’t it? (It’s not.)
Two Moons, above Summer’s Rest. BARRELS! Okay, so the horde have MORE barrels than the alliance, they just keep them upstairs. (Also, it IS quiet up here. No, I’m not bitter.)
Seven Stars, the alcove above the inn. Tier vendors!
Two Moons, the alcove above the inn: beer!
Seven Stars above the inn: the bank. Notice that there are tellers on both sides of the room. And no fancy statues.
Two Moons above the inn: the portal room! Backwards land! Also this reminded me of the age old importance of CRATES to the horde. I’m not sure why, but: the Horde. Love. Crates.
Seven Stars, through the bank to the Ethereal area.
Two Moons, through the portal room to the Ethereal area. The floor is different, but the lights are still pink and zappy.
Seven Stars foyer: one fat whirling panda.
Two Moons foyer: one fat whirling panda. (On the other side, of course).
Seven Stars, opposite corridor to the Ethereals: some guy preaching.
Two Moons, opposite corridor to the Ethereals: gorgeous garden and fountain. Uhm. Why do the alliance get preaching panderan and the horde get the horticultural ones?
Seven Stars portal room, no crates.
Two Moons bank: tellers on one side only, and the other side of the room are enormous statues. Classy. Who needs more queueing room anyway?
Seven Stars, another view of the portal room.
Two moons, another view of the classy bank. No-one sleazing around in here either.
Seven Stars, alcove above the trade vendors: panderan band and dancing girls.
Two Moons, alcove above the trade vendors: tier vendors!
Seven Stars trade vendors.
Two Moons trade vendors. Colourful!
Seven Stars, trade vendors near the door out. Two guys arguing about who gets to use the oven.
Two Moons, trade vendors near the door out. First aid training.
Seven Stars on the left of the central stairs: engineering area.
Two moons on the left of the central stairs: MORE CRATES.
Seven Stars to the right of the central stair area: First aid training.
Two moons on the right of the central stairs: engineering area.
Seven Stars back outside. There’s this box that isn’t really a box, that annoys me.
Two moons the nonbox isn’t there, yay!
Cough. that concludes today’s tour of the differences. A few things I have since noticed, but haven’t taken screenshots:
- The training dummy area is given a bit more space in the Shrine of Two Moons, plus there’s Eli wandering around there and falling asleep on the ground. not the best place for a small child.
- There’s a hozen with some sort of tauren-hozen hybrid baby, camped out the front of Two Moons. I’m not yet sure what that’s about.
- Abrogar. He’s up to something.
I haven’t noticed as many odd things happening in the Shrine of Two Moons, like I’ve seen happening in little corners in the Shrine of Seven Stars. Examples:
Seven Stars: these guys are having a staring match. I’m not even joking, if you’ve never stopped and talked to them, do. They are just inside the main foyer.
Seven Stars, bank. Vinnie here keeps up the sleazy ‘overly friendly’ lines on the female human bank teller. Total. Creeper.
Seven Stars also has quite a few male Panderan being very… friendly… with the new females. Like this guy begging for kisses. He gets them.
And this guy. There are others, flirting in corners all over the place. In the Shrine of Two moons, not so much. Maybe since the Hozen explained the whole ‘undead thing’ to the Panderan, they are a bit shy around horde females.
So. Soon I’ll be clicking on the wrong flight masters again. And flying into the wrong towns. And accidentally attacking Anduin’s guards on Timeless Isle. But it will be worth it, if I have found a good home. And if I never have to hear Duinn again.
